Stephanie Acevedo is a strategic and people-focused Human Resources leader with a proven track record of driving organizational success through innovative HR strategies. As SmartChoice’s Director of People Operations, she leads the overall operations of the People department, aligning HR strategy with business goals in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed telecom and ISP environment. She spearheads the development and enhancement of company policies and procedures, drives talent acquisition and retention strategies, and implements performance management systems that promote continuous employee development.
With more than seven years of HR leadership experience spanning telecom, hospitality, and healthcare, Stephanie brings deep expertise in employee relations, talent acquisition, total rewards, and organizational development. Her approach combines scalable people systems with a genuine focus on employee experience, streamlining processes, advancing compliance, and delivering data-informed solutions for both frontline and corporate teams.
Before joining SmartChoice in 2023, Stephanie served as Senior People Business Partner at Starry, Inc., another fast-evolving ISP, where she partnered cross-functionally across Operations, Engineering, and Customer Success to drive organizational agility. Earlier in her career, she held HR business partner and employee relations roles at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and Wynn Resorts, navigating complex workforce needs, leading workplace investigations, and managing leave-of-absence programs in highly regulated, high-volume settings.
Stephanie holds an MBA in Human Resources Management from Southern New Hampshire University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and sociology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is a certified SHRM-CP professional known for thriving in fast-paced environments and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive employee growth, enhance productivity, and ensure legal compliance.
