SmartTile 2.0 vs. the competition

Why
SmartTile 2.0

A network monitoring software comparison that ends at the fix, not the alert.

SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, Auvik and PRTG tell you something is down. SmartTile 2.0 opens the ticket in your own system, works the carrier for you and closes the loop when service is verified back up. Here is how it stacks up, feature by feature.

122 / 122features across 11 categories
3.4xthe coverage of the next closest tool
60+carriers worked by API or phone
30 secICMP polling, standard on every device
The real difference

Every tool finds the outage. SmartTile 2.0 closes it.

Traditional network monitoring stops at the alert. Everything after that, the ticket, the carrier call, the hold music, the follow-up and the close-out, lands on your team. SmartTile 2.0 automates the whole last mile.

Step
Typical monitoring tool
SmartTile 2.0
1Detect
Typical toolPing or SNMP polling, commonly on 1 to 5 minute defaults.
SmartTile 2.030-second ICMP polling, plus SNMP and vendor APIs (Meraki, UniFi, FortiGate, Verkada, AWS, Azure and more) with the same alerts and tickets.
2Confirm
Typical toolAn alert fires and an engineer decides whether it is real.
SmartTile 2.0A sustained-outage window and per-device clocks rule out false alarms before anyone is paged or ticketed.
3Ticket
Typical toolAn email lands in a shared inbox; someone opens the ticket, or an integration does where one exists.
SmartTile 2.0One ticket per outage, opened in the ITSM you already run: ServiceNow, Kaseya Autotask, Freshservice, ConnectWise, Jira Service Management and more.
4Call the carrier
Typical toolAn engineer dials the carrier, sits on hold and reads out the circuit ID.
SmartTile 2.0CarrierAutomate opens the carrier ticket by API where one exists and by phone with Joey where it does not. After 10 attempts, a US-based SmartChoice engineer takes over.
5Follow up
Typical toolSomeone remembers to chase the carrier for an ETA.
SmartTile 2.0Knock Knock auto-escalates stalled tickets, and every ETA, dispatch note and reference number is written back to your ticket.
6Close and report
Typical toolRecovery is confirmed and tickets are closed by hand.
SmartTile 2.0Restoration is verified, carrier and ITSM tickets close automatically, the customer is notified and the RFO is requested, reviewed and delivered.

Head to head

What you already know about them, and where SmartTile 2.0 goes further

vs. LogicMonitor

36 of 122
Known for

The broadest of the field: strong SNMP, NetFlow, cloud monitoring for AWS and Azure, ServiceNow and Jira integrations, and solid platform security.

Where SmartTile 2.0 goes further

Stops at the ticket. SmartTile 2.0 adds carrier ticket automation across 60+ carriers, location-based alert routing, a browser SSH jump box and per-device pricing instead of per-sensor.

vs. SolarWinds

29 of 122
Known for

A long-standing standard for SNMP polling, NetFlow traffic analytics, VPN tunnel health, configuration backup and ServiceNow sync.

Where SmartTile 2.0 goes further

No carrier automation, no in-app MTR or traceroute and per-sensor licensing. SmartTile 2.0 closes the loop with the carrier and keeps the price predictable as you add checks.

vs. Auvik

27 of 122
Known for

Known for auto-generated network maps, configuration backup, UniFi and Meraki visibility, US-based support and a reseller-friendly model.

Where SmartTile 2.0 goes further

Maps show the outage; SmartTile 2.0 fixes it. It adds carrier and ITSM ticket automation, cloud server monitoring for AWS, Azure and DigitalOcean, and Infrastructure Vault.

vs. PRTG and WhatsUp Gold

23 and 21 of 122
Known for

Popular sensor-based monitors with good SNMP, NetFlow, SLA reporting, maps and maintenance windows.

Where SmartTile 2.0 goes further

Both price per sensor, so costs climb with every SNMP check. Neither opens carrier tickets, syncs bi-directionally with most ITSM tools or offers remote SSH access.

vs. Datto RMM and ConnectWise Automate

14 and 13 of 122
Known for

Endpoint-first RMM platforms with firmware management, Meraki support, PSA ticketing and established partner programs.

Where SmartTile 2.0 goes further

Built for endpoints, not circuits. SmartTile 2.0 monitors the network edge every 30 seconds and automates what happens when the carrier line drops.

Seven reasons teams switch to SmartTile 2.0

Your team gets its time back

No more noticing the outage first, sitting on hold, repeating the circuit ID or chasing the carrier. SmartTile 2.0 does the last mile.

One ticket, in your own system

Opened, updated and closed in the ITSM system you already run: Kaseya (Autotask, BMS), ServiceNow, Freshservice, Jira Service Management, HaloPSA, ConnectWise, ManageEngine, Zendesk, NinjaOne, Ivanti, Freshdesk, Rev.io.

Nobody calls a carrier

The carrier’s API where there is one, Joey by phone where there is not, and every call, number and reply on the record.

A guarantee, not a promise

Detection to verified fix: 10 API attempts, 10 Joey calls, then a SmartChoice engineer picks it up. Never silent, never skipped.

Works with what you already own

46 integrations: your firewalls, switches, access points, cameras, cloud, phones and ITSM system. Nothing to replace.

Patent-pending closed loop

U.S. provisional filed 14 September 2026. It protects the whole loop from detection to verified fix, and the loop learns from every call.

Security you can verify

Keys encrypted, roles and 2FA, every write in an audit ledger. Our SOC 2 and HIPAA programs run on Vanta, which automates controls, evidence and monitoring; the independent audit is in preparation.

Own your network. Automate the last mile. Give your team its time back.

Pricing model

No per-sensor math. No surprise overages.

PRTG, WhatsUp Gold, SolarWinds and LogicMonitor price by sensor, so costs climb every time you add SNMP checks. SmartTile 2.0 licenses by device, and one device license covers every WAN and LAN interface on it.

Monitor

30-second polling, vendor-API monitoring, alerting, escalation, maps and reporting.

Enterprise

Adds SSH jump box, config backup, ITSM sync, device managers, diagrams and Infrastructure Vault.

Automate

Adds CarrierAutomate, FirmwareAutomate, CloudAutomate, threshold ticketing and NetFlow.

FAQ

Network monitoring software comparison: common questions

How is SmartTile 2.0 different from SolarWinds or LogicMonitor?

SolarWinds and LogicMonitor are monitoring platforms: they detect problems and alert your team. SmartTile 2.0 monitors too, with 30-second polling, and then automates what happens next: it opens the ticket in your ITSM, opens and follows up the carrier ticket by API or phone, and closes everything once service is verified restored.

Do I have to replace my current monitoring or ticketing tools?

No. SmartTile 2.0 works alongside what you already own, with 46 integrations across firewalls, switches, access points, cameras, cloud providers, phones and ITSM systems. Tickets stay in your own system.

Does SmartTile 2.0 charge per sensor?

No. SmartTile 2.0 is licensed per device, and one device license covers monitoring every WAN and LAN interface on it. CarrierAutomate is licensed per circuit you switch it on for.

Which carriers can SmartTile 2.0 open tickets with?

More than 60 internet carriers are mapped today, including Verizon, AT&T, Lumen, Spectrum, Comcast Business, Cox, Frontier, Granite, Zayo and Bell Canada. New carriers can be mapped within 72 business hours.

What happens if a carrier cannot be reached automatically?

After 10 documented attempts, a US-based SmartChoice engineer takes the call live and works the carrier until the issue is repaired. No outage is left without an owner.

Is SmartTile 2.0 secure enough for healthcare and financial services?

Keys are encrypted, access is role-based with two-factor authentication and every write is recorded in an audit ledger. SmartChoice runs its SOC 2 and HIPAA programs on Vanta, and the independent audit is in preparation.
