SmartChoice CEO Jarrett Wolfe Joins St. Pete EDC’s First Trade Mission to Canada

SmartChoice founder and CEO Jarrett Wolfe traveled to Toronto in October as part of the St. Petersburg Area Economic Development Corporation’s first trade mission to Canada. Pinellas County Economic Development (PCED) covered the trip in its November 1, 2026 article, “Canada Meets Florida.”

The St. Pete EDC led the mission alongside PCED, the City of St. Petersburg, SelectFlorida, and the Tampa Bay Partnership. Together, the delegation met with more than 50 Canadian companies weighing a move into the U.S. market. Presenters covered how to finance an expansion, relocate talent, choose a site, and plug into the local business community.

Jarrett joined fellow St. Petersburg business leaders Adam Kupsta of Oncore Cloud Services and Mason Salit of Dynasty Financial Partners. They shared what it’s really like to grow a company in St. Pete. In the article, he credits the St. Pete EDC with helping SmartChoice make connections, build relationships, and establish itself after expanding to the area. That experience is why he wanted to be part of the trip.

“When we expanded SmartChoice to St. Pete, we experienced firsthand how valuable it is to have the right people and resources around you when entering a new market. The St. Pete EDC helped us make meaningful connections, build relationships, and establish ourselves in the area. That experience is a big reason I wanted to participate in the Canada trip. We’ve been in their shoes, and I want other business leaders to see the same opportunities we found here. The collaboration between the EDC, local organizations and business leaders is what makes St. Pete special and creates an environment where companies can connect, innovate and grow.” he said.

For SmartChoice, the mission is a natural fit. We help multi-location organizations expand into new markets every day. We provide the connectivity, voice, and security infrastructure that lets a new location open ready to work. We’re proud to support the St. Pete EDC’s work bringing new employers and investment to the community we call home.
