IMPORTANT: Verizon Strike May Affect Your Service
Dear Valued Smart Choice Customer,
As you may know, as of Wednesday April 13th, approximately 36,000 union workers at Verizon have gone on strike. Unfortunately for some customers, this may impact our ability to respond to your voice and data inquiries as promptly as usual. The primary area affected is the Northeastern states and Virginia.
This notice specifically applies to Smart Choice Communications (SCC) EoC, Fiber, POTS and all other wireline services provided by Verizon-based loops. If your SCC service is not based on a Verizon-based loop, it is likely you will not be affected by this strike.
According to Verizon, the strike mainly affects installation of phone and broadband internet lines, customer support, repairing of out-of-service phone lines and maintenance.
During this time, if you have any technical issues, please open a ticket with Tech Support (firstname.lastname@example.org) as usual. We will handle your issue as quickly as possible– however repair times (based on Verizon copper and fiber loops) may take longer than usual. Rest assured, SCC has hired expert technicians to help resolve matters in any way we can and get you the help you need as quickly as possible.
SCC and Verizon will continue to dedicate the necessary resources to our customers to minimize the effects of the strike. We will keep you updated on the outcome of the situation as it continues.
